Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease worldwide. This condition has been written off as normal in the elderly when, in fact, IT IS NOT A NORMAL PART OF THE AGING PROCESS! Osteoarthritis primarily occurs in weight bearing joints that have improper loads applied to them. More often than not, faulty biomechanics lead to either too much joint motion wearing the joint away, or too little joint motion causing the joint to over calcify. There exists no therapy that reverses arthritis, but in many cases proper treatment has shown to be effective in stopping its progression as well as eliminate its symptoms.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
The term rheumatic refers to conditions in which the body’s own immune system attacks itself. In rheumatoid arthritis, immunoglobulin’s (immune cells) attack the lining of your joints. Typically, symptoms originate in the hands and then spread symmetrically to other joints of the body. X-ray evaluation and a blood test verify the diagnosis of this condition. Although there is no cure to rheumatoid arthritis, therapy can reduce or even eliminate the symptoms caused by it.
